Egyptian Nudi
Dropping into the dark waters of the Red Sea for our evening dive felt eerie as we descended towards the familiar wreck we had explored in daylight. The surface shimmered with the last traces of sunset, while below, darkness loomed like a silent guardian.
Amidst the shadows, vibrant red sponges adorned the edges of the wreck's main deck (Negombata magnifica) their scarlet hues a stark contrast to the muted sediment surrounding it. Drawn in by curiosity, I swam closer. Nestled among the sponges, a Pajama Slug caught my eye, its bright colors stood out against the sponge. I signaled to my buddies, who quickly joined me to capture photos of the exquisite specimen.
Suspended in the depths of the Red Sea, sharing the sense of wonder with my dear friends, I felt such gratitude for finally being able to make this long-awaited trip. I didn’t realize at the time, it would be one of my last dives.

Fun Fact: The Pajama slug is highly toxic! It stores toxins in its own flesh and warns of its toxicity with its bold color.
